Peace & prosperity ‘within’ & chaos ‘without’?

That sense of glee isn’t just childish, it’s also dangerous. If India’s neighbours become ‘failed states’ and face fratricidal civil wars, insurgencies and violence, there is no way India can remain immune. The ripple effects could have devastating consequences for India’s growth as well as internal & external security. One hallmark of failed states is that they ‘export’ – knowingly or unwittingly – to other countries. Something similar could well happen in South Asia. In fact, strategic analysts seem to agree that the dangerous ripple effects of violence and unrest in South Asia are already being felt in India. It can only get worse if India remains ignorant.
