Lost Egyptian queen discovered

The latest discovery of the long-lost queen’s mummy becomes monumental, because this time the axe and shovel (the Lost Egyptian queen discoveredtraditional tools of archeologists) have been fully aided by technology. Extensive use of DNA testing techniques, global positioning system (GPS), CT Scan and virtual imaging have all helped this recent discovery of the long-lost queen.

The story of Hatshepsut- a symbol of grit and determination, is as relevant today as it was during the ancient times. She had to sport a beard to sit on the throne, speaks volumes about the struggle which women have to wage to be accepted in a male dominated society. Even today some women are required to undergo ‘sex change’ to claim their right over parental property.

HSBC banks on high growth figures

India is proving to be a success story for Hong Kong & Shanghai HSBC banks on high growth figuresBanking Corporation (HSBC). For the financial year ending March 31, 2007, the company has recorded a jump of 64% in its profits at Rs.8.46 billion as compared to the previous year. All business lines of the bank have shown strong performance – contributing to the continuous surge in its profit figures. In India, which is among the top 10 contributors to the bank’s profits, the Group plans to pursue aggressive growth strategies. This claim has been made by none less than HSBC India Group GM & CEO Naina Lal Kidwai. During the year 2006-07, Rs.14.37 billion was infused in Indian branches of the bank.
